Today’s post is another V8930 coat remake, in plaid this time around… This coat was one of my favorites to wear – and the only one I made, might I add – last year. I wore this coat SO much, that I started to wear the fabric OUT!
I made a few changes this time around.
I decided against using Fleece and I also wanted to add some color to the lining…
Fabric Selected – Plaid Wool Blends from Hancock Fabrics, red lining fabric, also from Hancock. I cut a size Medium.

I added 4in vents on either side of the back panel.
And I rolled up the sleeves for a little something! I tacked them in place where the sleeve seams meet, on the fold.
I really like this coat – even more, this time around!
This V8930 coat is such a popular pattern. The 2nd time around, I still think this pattern is great for the novice sewer who would like to try a rewarding project, that won’t take up too much time to complete. The instructions are very straight forward, if you’re comfortable with reading commercial pattern instructions. There are few pattern pieces as well. If you’ve got this pattern on your sewing list – go for it!!
